Why choose sprouted grain or flour over regular ones.

Why choose sprouted grain or flour over regular ones.

Sprouting is the natural process by which seeds or grains germinate and begin to grow. Sprouted grain unlike your regular grain is more nutritious in its composition. Sprouted whole grain flours are the milled version of these sprouted grains.

There are various health benefits of having sprouted grains:
  1. They are tummy friendly: The starches in whole grains are converted into simple sugars that the body can use for energy, rather than stored as fat.
  2. Rich in nutrients: Sprouted grains are a rich source of protein, fiber, vitamin C, folate and beta carotene.
  3. Decreases anti-nutrients: Did you know that sprouting actually decreases antinutrients, making the nutrients in the grains more readily available to your body.
  4. Lowers gluten content: Sprouting decreases the gluten content which may make sprouted grains easier to digest.
  5. Rich in fibre: Sprouted grains are rich in fibre keeping the digestive system smooth.

How to grow sprouts at home:
Step 1: Take any grain and soak it in water for 6 to 12 hours (Ragi / Wheat / Moong / Chana / Wheat etc)
Step 2: Drain the water and tie it in a cotton cloth for 1 day
Step 3: Your sprouted grain is ready.
Step 4: You or your child can have it as is or completely dry it and grind it into a flour
